Description
1st & 2nd items: Pair of Chamberlain's Worcester Carnatic service botanical plates, both having shaped underglaze blue borders with enameled and gilt floral decoration and cartouches with Arabic inscriptions and central hand painted flower decoration including Scotch Broom and Blue & White Flax. Red maker's stamp and flower title en verso of each plate. 10" dia. and 10 1/2" x 8 1/2". English, 1st Qtr. 19th century. Note: In 1820, two magnificent services were made for His Highness Willajah Nabob Auzum Jar of the Carnatic, Madras. All pieces were decorated with copies of Botanical illustrations taken from Curtis's Botanical magazine (Source: https://www.museumofroyalworcester.org/). 3rd item: Polish (Warsaw /Belvedere) faience dated Imari plate from the Sultan Abdul Hamid I service. Center with a hand-painted jardiniere of flowers on a fenced terrace encircled by a blue ground band with six panels divided by gilt trellis ornament, four of the panels with a Turkish inscription, all within a blue ground rim having shaped cartouche decoration depicting birds and a butterfly among flowering shrubs and chrysanthemums. The Turkish inscriptions read: This plate is sent as a present/and as a sign of frienship/as a token of good relations with the Emperor/The Sultan a Khalif of the House of Asman". The rim underside with trailing flowering branches and a diaper border, gilt-line rim. 9 3/4" dia. 3rd Qtr. 18th century.

1st & 2nd items: Both plates with old repairs to rim, overall light craquelure and some scattered staining. Oval plate with additional hairline visible en verso. 3rd item: 2" Hairline to rim, overall light craquelure.
