Description
Shoda Koho (Japanese, 1870-1946) woodblock print titled "Black Cat at Night" from the "Japanese Scenes on Tanzaku" series, originally published by Hasegawa Shoten, Tokyo, circa 1920-29. Depicts a nighttime scene of a black cat with yellow eyes crouched on a rocky outcropping and partially hidden by foliage. Two red seals, lower right. Signed "Koho" in pencil, lower right below image. Float mounted and housed under glass in a black wooden frame. Sheet: 13 5/8" H x 3 1/8" W. Sight: 17 1/2" H x 6 3/8" W. Framed: 18 1/2" H x 7 3/8" W.

Condition
Overall good condition with areas of acid burn, largest 1/2", top right and lower left. Toning to mat. Frame with areas of loss, largest 6", to black paint. Not examined outside of frame.
