Two Spanish 8 Reales .903 Silver Coins. Also known as Portrait Dollars and recognized as America's first silver dollar. Purportedly discovered in the remains of a Spanish ship off the coast of Louisiana. Obverse: Charles III bust and date, one dated 1783, the other date is illegible. Reverse: Pillars of Hercules and Spanish Coat of Arms. Measure 39mm. Approx. weight: 27.0 grams each. Presented in plastic case. Condition: Reales mounted on card in plastic.
