Lot of antique gold-painted wooden 'I' characters from the Roman alphabet, five total, in variations classical serif letterforms, probably once used as signage. These letters stand out, literally, by their relief carving, giving them a more weighty three-dimensionality and architectural quality, their curved faces gently lifting them from the wall, softening their visage, and creating potential for subtle shadows.
