Hand colored Landscape with black turkey vultures and raven feeding from dead sheep, with black and white heads of vultures enlarged above to show differences, marked lower left Drawn from Nature by A. Wilson and lower right engraved by A. Lawson 10 1/2 x 13 1/2", matted and framed 17 x 20". Condition light even toning VG. Alexander Wilson, Scottish American ornithologist (1766-1813) was the first to attempt to illustrate the bird of North America, many years before John James Audubon, considered by many as the father of North American Ornithology.
