Description
R. Delinières & Cie. and L. Bernardaud & Cie. (French), 1895-1900. Fifteen piece Limoges porcelain fish service, having a cobalt-ground lip with scrolled parcel gilt decoration, each piece having a signed hand-painted scene (five pairs and two singles) depicting fish in an aquatic setting, the set comprising: twelve fish plates (dia. 9"), one platter (h. 2.5", w. 25.25", d. 9.5") , one sauce boat (h. 5.5", w. 7.5", d. 3.5"), and one stand (h. 1", w. 9.75", d. 5.5"). All except one fish scene plated signed "Marcel", all with printed marks including retail for Higgins & Seiter. Provenance: The Private Collection of Ms. Linda Candler, Atlanta, Georgia.
