Item Details

Description

Italian, 18th century. Venetian baroque carved wooden six-light candle and electric chandelier, having parcel gilt and polychrome decoration, scrolled acanthus detail, the gadrooned central corona with faux marble painted panels interspersed with carved lion heads issuing curved iron arms with candle sconces, centering on an acanthus patterned urn, terminating in a fruited pendant. Unmarked. Approx. h. 50", dia. 33".

Condition

Previous restorations; later decoration; central urn is wired for electricity but no socket is present; pleasing distressed finish; frame is structurally sound.
