Description
18th Century hand colored engraving of Vetusta Monumenta depict the ruins of the twelfth-century abbey church of Fountains, Yorkshire, with extant monastic structures. The images offer significant visual evidence of the site as it stood in 1722.. Engravings by George Vertue after Samuel Buck. Published by the Society of Antiquaries of London in 1723. Measures- exterior frame: H 20" x L 24 1/4" Plate: 7 3/4" x 14 1/3"
Condition
Good antique condition. Minor indentation to paper, upper left outside of image. Missing glass. Some finish loss to frame.
