Description
Superb John Wilkes Booth Carte-de-Visite, Unsigned
Measuring 2.25" x 4", New Haven, Connecticut, undated [Ca. 1860s]. A seated portrait of Booth wearing a well-tailored suit and resting his ungloved hand on his chin while leaning on a small table. His other gloved hand rests on his lap. The signed name at the bottom of the card is not a signature, but an identification. On verso is the backstamp D.C. Collins (Late Wells & Collins), New Haven. Light toning throughout, with minor foxing and soiling. Clipped corners. Overall very good.
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
