A PORCELAIN 'WUCAI' VASE WITH A COURT FIGURE AND SERVANTS IN A PALACE GARDEN
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Of ovoid, elongated shape with short neck and everted lip, painted in polychrome enamels with depiction of a court figure and servants in a lushy palace garden with a view of mountainous peaks immersed in clouds. One servant swings a tall honorary canopy, all withing double lines in underglaze blue.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and firing imperfections.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a second-generation member of the Holzapfel family and has remained in the family ever since.
