The piece has side mounted dragon handles grasping flaming pearls, an imperial dragon finial top surrounded by incised fu lion, lotus and dragon motifs and a perimeter of key fret details. The body of the censor is carved with the palanquinin procession, which welcomes the Gods for a prosperous country. The piece is then finished with unique legs with turtles at the base, with the head of a dragon and phoenix legs. The censor has a maker's mark on the bottom of the piece, and rests on a hand carved wood and gilt gold base with an imperial dragon motif.
