Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Tairona culture, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. This is as wonderful collection of approximately 200 stone beads that are strung on a thread as necklace. The stones are mottled earthen hues of creamy pink, tan, beige, and white. Interestingly, the stones are carved into nearly identical forms: the backside is curved, the face side flat and incised with a V-shaped notch at both ends and a pair of stippled dots in the center. Each is a miniature version of the more commonly seen batwing pendants that can range in size from a few inches to almost a foot in length. The beads are on an older thread and should be restrung before wearing - and the addition of a few vibrant beads from Tairona or another pre-Columbian culture would make this a stunning accessory! Nicks to beads and light mineral deposits. But overall, very good condition. We highly recommended restringing this piece on a better cord if you intend to wear it. The current thread is fraying and not secure.
