A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH ENGRAVED GILT BRASS GORGE CASE REPEATING CARRIAGE CLOCK the moulded foliate scroll engraved case enclosing a masked porcelain dial signed 'M. ANDERSON, 19. PARLIAMENT ST. DUBLIN' with subsidiary alarm dial below fronting an eight-day spring-driven movement with original compensated lever escapement and alarm mechanism striking and repeating on a bell. (Dimensions: 16cm high including handle)
Condition
The clock is in good original working condition. The escapement is original and is working well with a strong action. The movement runs and strikes the hours in sequence, the repeat mechanism works correctly. Both enamel dials are in good undamaneged unrestored condition. The glass panels are undamaged. The gilding is worn in places and is very dirty and the clock would benefit from been cleaned.
