Roman, possibly Holy Land region, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. An attractive ensemble of 3 pottery oil lamps, each mold-made to display an extended wick spout, an annular fill hole, a raised handle, a flat shoulder with an abstract relief design, and a ring-form base. The first vessel boasts a pointed handle with what appears to be a face, though centuries of wear have softened the details beyond recognition, while the remaining 2 present circular handles; 1 with the relief of a stylized head - perhaps a gorgon - and the other with a cross. Size of largest (lamp with cross): 3.8" L x 2.2" W x 1.8" H (9.7 cm x 5.6 cm x 4.6 cm)

Losses and erosion to base and peripheries of lamp with pointed handle. Other 2 are intact. All have nicks, abrasions, and softening of detail. Otherwise, all are very nice with lovely earthen deposits.
