Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, commander circa March 1951 in green leather presentation box with the arms of the Italian Republic on the lid, stamped inside cover, Arturo Pozzi Roma; the white enamel "Greek Cross" with 4 Eagles to the corners, hung from 3 castellated Towers and a turquoise and coral ribbon, the presentation box includes a small rosette with a miniature of the castellated Towers and space for a miniature version of the award now missing. Height of Medal with Towers and hanging ring 2 3/4 inches (7 cm.). The Order was founded on 3 March 1951 to be awarded to those who render notable service to the Italian Republic and is open equally to Italian and non-Italian citizens.

The gilding on the award is worn, the box has damages to leather at lower right corners and edges.
