Description
A museum-quality French Folk Art basket in turned and bentwood and wicker, used to carry chickens to and from market. C. 1850-1880. Provenance: Paris, France. Dimensions: H 14.5" x W 18.5" x D 13.25" Condition: Wear consistent with antique age and use; breaks and losses to wicker at bottom, minor splits to wood along top; missing a few spindles; nicks, rubs, minor worming and general patina to wood throughout.

All the items in this auction remain at our gallery location in Norwalk, CT for pickup. Preview is by appointment, Monday-Friday, 9:30-4:30. Items must be picked up in the time frame of Thursday, December 16th - Thursday, December 23rd, 9am-5pm, WEEKDAYS. We will offer in-house shipping to the Contiguous USA for select smaller items in this sale, please contact us prior to bidding for a quote as purchases are not contingent on shipping.
