Western Europe, Germany / Austria, ca. 19th century CE. A porcelain ovoid plaque finely hand-painted featuring a young woman seated on a garden bench with a winged cherub or putti standing beside her with a raised bow and arrow. The woman is garbed in Empire or classical clothing - her white robe like dress scandalously revealing one of her breasts, a perfect target for the notched arrow, and she coyly holds a hand up as if to ward off the strike. The plaque is mounted on a yellow velvet backing and a gilt wood frame, the verso of the plaque is stamped with "335." This piece is ready to be displayed and in excellent condition! Size (porcelain): 3.5" L x 3" W (8.9 cm x 7.6 cm); (frame): 7.25" L x 6.75" W (18.4 cm x 17.1 cm)
