The argument can be made that without this comic, the entire Marvel Universe as we know it may not have existed. Marvel Comics Fantastic Four issue 1 from November, 1961. The book featured the origin and first appearance of the Fantastic Four and Moleman. This was Marvel’s first ever superhero team! It was the beginning of the Marvel Silver Age of Comics bringing serious competition to the previously D.C. dominated superhero comic market. High grade copies are few and far between, especially when compared to other early 1960’s Marvel origin issues. Sporting one of the most famous covers by Jack Kirby in comic history, Overstreet places this book as #3 on their Top 50 Silver Age Comics list. After multiple attempts on the silver screen, the Fantastic Four will finally be joining the cannon of the MCU come 2023. When looking at the historical significance and rarity, there is no question this book is a must-have for your portfolio.
