***Auction Highlight*** 15th Infantry Post Exchange Military Brass Token Good for 10 Cents Grades xf. 15th Infantry Post Exchange Military Brass Token Good for 10 Cents. The 25c version is currently listed at $1500, and the 10c isssue in octagon is 5x rarer!. Nice original patina, vf35. Only one I can find, anywhere. As background; TC-467187 Also attributed to Monterey Military Reservation and Ord Barracks and Presidio Of Monterey and Unknown, Philippines Per Presidio of Monterey website: In September of 1902 the 15TH Infantry sailed from the Philippines to Monterey to construct a post to house an Infantry Regiment and a Squadron of Cavalry. Later that year it was named the Monterey Military Reservation. On July 13TH 1903 it was renamed Ord Barracks. on August 30TH 1904 It was renamed Presidio of Monterey. In 1905 they sailed back to the Philippines. Per New Monterey Neighborhood Historical survey, the Commissary was located in Mariposa Hall at 801 Lighthouse, Monterey until permanent buildings were constructed on the base.
