**First Time At Auction**

Northwestern Europe, England, Sheffield, ca. 1826 CE. A fine pair of dining utensils intended for a child made of sterling silver and elephant ivory handles. The fork has three tines and short ivory covered grip. The butter knife has a flat, rounded blade and is stamped with 5 hallmarks, including a town mark for Sheffield, a date mark "C", the lion passant, and the maker mark "LL" for Joseph Law, John Oxley & Henry Atkin. Size of knife: 6.125" L x 0.5" W (15.6 cm x 1.3 cm); fork: 4.75" L x 0.5" W (12.1 cm x 1.3 cm); silver quality: 92%; weight: 26.8 grams

This is an ESA antique exempt piece of ivory and cannot be sold internationally or to anyone residing in the states of California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington. We guarantee that the piece is over 100 years old.

Great condition. Stable fissures to ivory handles on both utensils. Slight bending to tip of knife blade. Some softening to marks on knife, but legible. Cleanable patina and dark toning on silver of both.
