Description
**First Time At Auction**
Central Asia, Kazakhstan, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A beautiful necklace strung with turquoise stones and silver beads coalescing at an ovoid nickel-brass pendant. This necklace is wearable, terminating with a silver hook clasp and the strand is symmetrically strung with the turquoise and ten 94% silver beads graduating towards the center. The pendant is a flat silver panel with integral suspension rings at the top. The frontside is raised with a face inlaid with blue and red glass seed beads within thick silver wires. The central bezel contains a polished turquoise stone that is more of a sea green hue, compared to the bluer turquoise strand. This is a gorgeous and wearable piece of traditional artistry. Condition
Strung in modern times. Areas of darker toning and patina on the pendant and silver beads, and mineral deposits within the recessed areas of the pendant. Minor blemish or old repair to bezel of turquoise but is mostly unnoticeable. The piece is wearable.
