**First Time At Auction**
Central/South Asia, India/Pakistan, Indus Valley civilization, Harappa, ca. early 2nd millennium BCE. An adorable ceramic bird with a broad body and perky head and tail rising at either end. Black lines of pigment contrast against the buff ceramic color of the fired clay. This may have been a toy, a puppet, or made to be carried on a stick in a procession. Size: 4.6" W x 3.1" H (11.7 cm x 7.9 cm)
Provenance: private east coast of Florida, USA collection; ex-old French collection, Paris, France, acquired 1977 to 1987
