abstract silkscreen on paper singed l.l. Artist Proof dated 1954 22 x 16 inches (sight) 28.5 x 22.5 inches (paper) Overall good condition. Scuffs and wear throughout paper. Minor abrasions and stains to silkscreen. Barnum was an art educator and teacher of design at the Handicraft Guild, a precursor to the Louisville Art Center. She was director of the Louisville Art Center from 1929 to 1944. She was the first teacher when the Louisville Art Association initiated its Children's Free Art Classes in 1925. She designed sets and costumes in NYC, and designed sets for Pavlova, was an interior decorator, exponent of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Long served as a juror at national shows at the Art Institute in Cincinnati.
