Description
(1882 – 1950) Italian colonial administrator and Fascist politician. Teruzzi was governor of Cyrenaica in 1926–28, before returning to the military. He was Chief of Staff for the MVSN and later Minister for Italian Africa from 1939 to 1943. During the Spanish Civil War, Teruzzi was promoted to Lieutenant General and appointed Inspector General of the Blackshirts. Teruzzi followed Il Duce in his Nazi-backed refuge in Northern Italy, and helped found the Fascist Italian Social Republic. Exceptional I.S.P. inscribed to a consul, 10 x 14 in. b/w, Rome, 1933, showing Teruzzi from the chest, up in his medal-bedecked uniform. Some very light, scattered foxing to the mount, else fine.
