For your consideration is a captivating bronze sculpture titled La Mano de Dios (Hand of God) by Swedish artist Carl Milles, after. Dimensions: 27h x 8.5w x 6d. In excellent vintage condition. This design was one of the last artworks by Carl Milles, which he created to honor the Swedish entrepreneur C.E. Johansson, who revolutionized precision measuring of industrial parts. The concept for this sculpture came to Milles in a dream and the sketch of the hand is modeled after the artist's left hand. Carl Milles (1875-1955) was an influential artist in the 20th Century working between Sweden and the United States. He created monumental sculptures for many public art commissions. Between 1931 and 1951 he resided with his wife Olga in Cranbrook, Bloomfield Hills, outside Detroit, where he is Professor of Sculpture at the Cranbrook Academy of Art. He receives many commissions for fountains and monuments throughout the United States. During this time, he also was a part of many exhibitions.
