George Jones Majolica 'Blue Tit' Butter Dish, Cover and Stand
Circa 1875
Impressed GJ monogram and cypher, black painted shape no. 3376 / H
The rustic ground molded with scattered strawberry blossoms; the domed cover finial modeled as a blue-tit pecking fruit. Diameter of bowl 5 1/2 inches; diameter of stand 7 1/4 inches.

This form is associated with a series of wares made for serving strawberries.
