Yao Wedding Headcover, China, Early 20th C. Headcover textile of square cotton indigo-dyed tabby cloth with silk embroidery in flat-stitch and cross-stitch. Yao People, Western Guangxi Province, Hezhou Township, Daping area, China. Such headcloths were worn by Yao brides as the final layer on an elaborate wedding headdress. Size: 18'' x 18'', (46 x 46 cm). Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection.
