Description
3 Antique Yao Painted Ceremonial Banner Scrolls, China, Late 19th-Early 20th Century. Scroll form hanging or banner on handmade paper with sticks of bamboo securing ends, tempera painting. Depicting (i) lotus crowned central figure holding an lotus stem, with birds and a canopy decorating the top section, (ii) haloed central figure holding an object with two smaller haloed figures surrounding it and birds and a canopy decorating the top section, (iii) haloed central figure holding a cup, smaller haloed figures surrounding it and birds and a canopy decorating the top section. Size: Each 51'' x 19'', (130 x 48 cm). Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection.
