Description
Following a 40-year wait after the 1919 “Black Sox” disgrace, the Chicago White Sox unseated the four-time defending American League Champion Yankees in 1959, prompting Mayor Richard Daley to sound the air raid sirens and cause a temporary panic on the South Side. This baseball is autographed by (27) members of that “Go-Go” Pale Hose roster. The clean and creamy Official AMerican League Harridge sphere is home to blue ballpoint pennings. Includes: Sweet Spot: Al Lopez (manager); North Panel: Latman, Landis, Arias, Staley, Goodman, Nellie Fox (d. 1975), Aparicio and Cash (d. 1986); South Panel: Torgeson, Romano, Cuccinello (coach), Cooney (coach), Gutteridge (coach), Shaw, Simpson and Lollar; West Panel: Donovan, Smith, Lown, Battey, Latman (repeat signature) and Landis (repeat signature); East Panel: Pierce, Esposito, Moore, Wynn, Lollar (repeat signature), Doby and Phillips. Accompanying is a full photo LOA from JSA.
