Description
Two Peruvian Items Recuay, c. 200-500 AD and Inca, c. 1400-1500 AD One a Recuay jar with human head wearing a large hat with animal features on one end, a bridge handle on the other end. A finely painted band around middle with alternating panels of two hummingbirds at blossoms and squares with geometric motifs. A very attractive item, in good condition, tiny chip off animal nose at front, scrapes and losses to the paint in the wide band. The second an Inca bird-handled dish with bird head at one end, two catfish painted on the interior with a wide band with diamonds down middle. This is repaired at the bird's neck, some minor paint loss on the fish and wide band. Widths: 6 ½ and 7 ½ inches
