The Daily Bugle newspaper can be seen scattered throughout the office of the publisher J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons) as Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) makes money by photographing his adventures as Spider-Man. This front page has the Daily Bugle masthead and a front-page headline that reads "ENOUGH! Citizens Call for Wall-Crawler's Arrest". The inside and back cover displays unrelated news content. Spider-Man was released on May 3, 2002 to positive reviews from audiences and critics. The film became the first film to reach $100 million in a single weekend, as well as the most successful film based on a comic book at the time. With a box office gross of over $821.7 million worldwide, it was the third highest-grossing film of 2002, the highest-grossing superhero film and the sixth highest-grossing film overall at the time of its release.
