Note: This lot is accompanied by a facsimile of a letter from Severin Roesen expert Judith Hansen O'Toole discussing the work, and her belief that the artist was a student of Roesen's, and that the work was most likely painted in Roesen's studio. She also posits that Roesen himself painted specific areas of this work, such as the grape leaves, birds nest, and red currants.
