Up for sale here we have a Ronnie Cutrone color screenprint, titled "Reigning Cats (Black)”, from his iconic series of animated characters. Additionally, the piece is hand signed, numbered 19 of 40 and comes with a gallery certificate guaranteeing its authenticity. Furthermore it is from one of Cutrone's best, and most desirable pieces, showcasing his captivating vision and remarkable genius in developing whimsical imagery. Finally, it is of impressive craftsmanship and size, measuring approximately 32" x 40" (archival matted to 30" x 39") and 38" x 48" with its custom frame, which is a perfect compliment to the piece. Making this one of our personal favorites by Cutrone.
Ronnie Cutrone (1948 - 2013): An American born artist who is especially recognized for his works of the cartoon characters: Felix the Cat, Pink Panther and Woody the Woodpecker. Cutrone learned his lively and colorful style from the father of Pop Art, Andy Warhol, who he was the direct assistant to from 1972 - 1980. As he carved out his own career, success was imminent from his first post-Warhol show to the point where his art has been exhibited at the Whitney, Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Contemporary and many others.
*Please note, due to the limited amount of space most items are framed just prior to the start of auction, thus the frame you see pictured might not be currently available. If not we will do our best to frame it in a similar style and color.
