1902 1st ed Mark TWAIN Double Barrelled Detective Sherlock Holmes RARE

Mark Twain was one of the most popular and beloved American authors of the 19th-century. His works have become a mainstay in American literature, creating characters such as Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. By the end of 1800s, British author Arthur Conan Doyle created a famous detective character Sherlock Holmes, of whom Twain was quite fond. Twain developed his own parodic version of Holmes in his book A Double Barrelled Detective Story” which was first published in 1902. Twain puts Sherlock Holmes in the United States and creates a satirical world for him to discover.
The BAL notes no priority on the various forms of this first edition with both A and B states with endpapers and on wove paper.
