Hugo is very upset because the perpetual secretary, on the day before of the acceptance of Sainte Beuve at the French Academy, is breaking his commitment of procuring a fair post for him and regretting not being able to accompany his correspondent, states in part `Can you forgive me for my misfortune? There is an unprecedented clutter, and I am reduced to the minimum portion. My own sons do not have tickets…´ With address leaf, bearing few ink stamps.
