DUCHAMP MARCEL: (1887-1968) French painter & sculptor. T.L.S., Marcel, and also signed ('Teeny') by his second wife, Alexina, to the verso of a colour picture postcard depicting Cadaques on the Costa Brava, Cadaques, n.d. (1960), to Mr and Mrs. Man Ray ('Dearest Man and Julie'), in English and French. Duchamp and his wife state that they have received their correspondent's letter and will be waiting for them around the 10th and that their apartment will be ready, further adding that they were glad to have good news from Julie. A letter of excellent association between two of the most important artists of the 20th century. VG Alexina 'Teeny' Duchamp (1906-1995) American wife of art dealer Pierre Matisse, and the second wife of Marcel Duchamp from 1954-68. Man Ray (1890-1976) American artist, whose second wife, from 1946, was Juliet Man Ray (1911-1991) an American dancer and model who became the artist's muse.
