BIG GAMBLE THE: A 4to page removed from an album featuring a group of four individual signatures and sketches by various cast and crew members of the adventure film The Big Gamble (1961) comprising Stephen Boyd (1931-1977, British actor who portrayed Vic Brennan in the film; Boyd has added basic facial ink caricatures of himself and two co-stars alongside a truck with the words Big Gamble on its side in his hand above his signature), David Wayne (1914-1995, American actor who portrayed Samuel Brennan in the film), Juliette Greco (1927-2020, French singer and actress who portrayed Marie in the film; Greco has added a small self-caricature and two musical notes in her hand above her signature) and William C. Mellor (1903-1963, American cinematographer for The Big Gamble). To the verso appears an original pen and ink caricature drawn and signed by Lionel Jeffries (1926-2010, English actor), the image depicting him as Monsieur Brun from the film Fanny (1961). An unusual grouping of signatures. VG Provenance: The present page originates from the restaurant visitor's book of Jean Cassini, a renowned French restaurateur in Avignon, both at the Hotel d'Europe and his own establishment, Restaurant Cassini. The visitor's book was in use from 1957-82.
