FRASCHINI GAETANO: (1816-1887) Italian Tenor. Fraschini was Verdi´s favourite tenor. He created many roles during the 19th century, such as Riccardo in Verdi´s opera in Un Ballo in Maschera (1859). Fraschini is credited for extending the longevity of Donizetti´s operas, while at the same time helping the transition from Donizetti to Verdi. A good A.L.S., Gaetano Fraschini, one page, small 4to, to Bavaldi, Eaux Bonnes, Basses Pyrenées, 26th June 1861, to Bavaldi, in Italian. Fraschini refers to his letter saying `On the fourth of last Month of May I addressed to you a letter from Madrid, so that you would have the kindness to deliver it to Marchese di Clauvicorde, about what you were talking in Madrid when I had the pleasure to meet you in person…´, further, and not having received a response, reminding his request in case the letter was lost and asking for a prompt response.
