Antique 19th C French Bebe Jumeau Triste Doll Circa 1880s French bebe doll made by Jumeau known as Triste or Long Face. Having a bisque head, blue glass eyes, closed mouth, applied pierced ears, straight wrists and jointed composition body. The facial mold was designed by Carrier Belleuse. Having an antique curled human hair wig, brown leather shoes, brown stockings, and nice quality lace and silk trimmed dress with mother of pearl buttons. Doll also wears two piece undergarment set of blouse and leggings. Back of head is marked 14. Bisque head without any missing components but has repainting on bisque head and body has paint flaking. This doll was owned by the same collector since the 1980s when she purchased it in New Hampshire and had it restored at the New York Doll Hospital. Doll itself measures approximately 28 inches in height, wig adds 1.5 inches. Doll stand included. Doll is on the original body.
