Spanish Colonial style single door cabinet, third quarter 19th century, the single door case with original iron strap hardware and having floral and scroll decorated carving, with a hand carved Latin phrase "dona praesentis cape laetus horae, et linque severa", translating as "gladly enjoy the gifts of the present hour, and banish serious thoughts" (Horace), the sides of the case fully carved with scroll decoration, the whole rising on a conforming carved lower case, 79"h x 42"w x 20"d Provenance: Ostensibly property from Hearst Castle, San Simeon, CA
