first edition, a rare 19th-century album illustrating the hunting dog of Northern Russia called the "laïka," portfolio is complete with 38 loose leaves including 31 large plates featuring photographs with accompanying printed illustrations by Aleksei Stepanovich Stepanov (Russian, 1858–1923), published in Moscow, text in English, presented in original green cloth portfolio.
