Item Details

Description

Wood & Iron Penny-Farthing High Wheel Bicycle Sculpture. This charming Victorian penny-farthing from the 19th century has been turned into a wonderful sculpture. A metal basket with a faded green interior has been added to the large wheel and is adorned with a horse shoe. The smaller wheel is attached to the larger with a long, curved piece of wood. The pedals are of two different makes, one reading "simplex" and the other "WII." This bicycle sculpture has a wonderful rusty patina throughout with lichens growing in some places and decorative floral vines are incised on the fork. A support stand has been welded to the large wheel so that it can stand on its own.

Dimensions are 64 in h x 27 in w x 71 in d. Condition is good. Surface wear and rust throughout. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
