A GEORGE II ROCOCO SILVER CAKE BASKET, by Robert Brown, London 1739, shaped oval and on openwork foliate and mask-capped skirt base with four mask-capped feet, with openwork foliate and flower border, plain overhead swing handle, engraved with a coat-of-arms. 34cm long, 62.5 troy ounces
Condition
Fully marked underneath. The handle marked with lion passant. The marks are generally good and clear. Further engraved to underside 'A.D. 1739'. Some very small repairs to the piercing. Surface scratches and wear commensurate with age and use.
