Rare clock which may have been made after Adams moved to Chillicothe, Ohio from New York in 1837 with painted and gilt wood dial with Roman numerals with open escapement, brass time and strike weight driven works. Mahogany case with all three original polychrome painted tablets, including unusual tablet with gilt spread winged eagle in arched tablet above door, central tablet with paired gilt cornucopia with roses, lower tablet with red & green drapery and paired columns, case with cove molded top door flanked by full tapered columns with carved Corinthian capital and block plinth, craved lion paw front feet with turned rear, includes original brass pendulum, key and weights, 20 3/4 x 7 3/4 x 38 1/4" high. Condition upper tablet with crack, else Very Good.
