Ancient Near East, Holy Land, ca. 1st millennium BCE. A nice pair of wheel-thrown pottery vessels of utilitarian forms. The taller vessel features a concave base, a gentle piriform body, and a tapered neck that terminates in a flared, everted rim, all in a bright khaki hue. The wider vessel exhibits a burnt umber color and bears a relatively spherical body, a rounded shoulder, and a gradually flared neck with a rolled rim. Size (taller vessel): 3.2" Diameter x 7.1" H (8.1 cm x 18 cm); (wider vessel): 4.5" W x 6.5" H (11.4 cm x 16.5 cm)

Both vessels have minor abrasions and encrustations, with areas of fire darkening around shoulder, neck, and rim of wider vessel, otherwise intact and very good. Nice earthen deposits throughout.
