Northern Europe, Viking / Norse culture, ca. 9th to 11th century CE. A hefty brass bracelet with stippled and linear decorative patterns. The cuff was made by bending a rectangular sheet of brass into an ovoid form with rounded terminal tips. The exterior face is stamped with cross forms as well as a highly abstract motif of intersecting lines and petite circles near the center. The terminal tips leave a narrow opening for the wearer's wrist to fit through. This piece is in great condition with dark green patina covering its surfaces. Size: 2.5" Diameter x 0.3" W (6.4 cm x 0.8 cm); opening gap: 0.75" W (1.9 cm)
