Description
PENNSYLVANIA FOLK ART CARVED AND TURNED MAPLE FRAME, made for CDV or tintype portraits, featuring applied split balusters and applied buttons, shaped crest featuring two yellow-painted carved and applied lovebirds flanking the oval reserve, topped by a cut-out double bird head. Pine substrate. Retains likely original surface. Second half 19th century. 19 1/4" HOA, 14 1/2" WOA. 3 3/4" x 2 1/2" image seats.

Condition
Good visual condition with minor cracks and surface wear. Two split balusters replaced. Head to proper right bird likely replaced with associated retouch. Paint to double bird head restored. Lacking one button and several others likely replaced.
