Description
Johnny Alterman (1942-2012) Born in Miami, Alterman attended Wharton (1964), and received his J.D. from the University of Miami (1969.) His interest in photography began in the 70s, and after attending the Penland School of Crafts, he moved to San Francisco to earn a Masters degree in Fine Arts. Alterman later was a teaching assistant for Ansel Adams Yosemite Workshop in 1980 where the two artists exchanged ideas and works. Alterman's photographs can be found in collections at the Bank of America World Headquarters, Wells Fargo Bank, Lowe Art Museum, Miami Art Museum, Princeton University Art Museum, Houston's Museum of Fine Arts and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, among others.
