Chinese Ming Dynasty Yellow Glazed Porcelain Incense Burner. Potted in shallow vessel form, thick and deep, globular body, heavy on mid body, correspondence dome lid with tall finial bud and there is a tongue at the outer rims for fitting the lid, raised with tall splayed round flat base and slight concave base. Warm and uniform yellow glaze applied to the surface, only the outer bottom is white glazed. Yellow is an imperial color in Chinese Dynasty color symbolism, representing power, royalty, prosperity and the earth in traditional Chinese culture.The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
