South African Stamp Heritage Collection was produced by the Africana Commemorative Mint and released in 1979. Each medallion is gold plated sterling silver, numbered and a replica of an historic South African stamp. The collection was minted to commemorate South Africa's postal history, dating back as far as the various iterations of the classic Cape Triangular from 1853. The full collection contains 25 different medallions. This is a partial set containing #8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16. Each medallion comes in the original, green card holder, originally sealed and protected in a plastic box in the center of the card. Some cards' glue failed over time and have come open, 3 medallions are loose from the plastic holder and have slight marking. 5 medallions remained sealed and in mint condition.
